Buses Replace Light Rail In South San Jose Until July 1< 1 min. read

More light rail track and overhead wire rehab work on the Blue Line has started. To allow for this work, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) shuttle buses will replace light rail trains between Capitol and Santa Teresa stations in both directions. Blue Line light rail trains will be turned around at Capitol station.

As these buses must travel via city streets, allow up to 30 minutes’ more travel time than usual.

Read on for more VTA bus alternatives for both of these events.

VTA Bus Alternatives

Here are other VTA bus alternatives to consider, starting with this round of Blue Line light rail rehab work:

  • Ohlone-Chynoweth: 64A (get off bus at Santa Clara/N. 1st for northbound Blue Line or Green Line light rail connections, or San Jose Diridon Station for Green Line light rail connections)
  • Snell: 66
  • Cottle: 68
  • Santa Teresa: 66 or 68

The 66 and 68 buses stop at Paseo de San Antonio station. This allows for connections to northbound Blue Line or Green Line light rail service.

Between Blossom Hill and Santa Teresa stations, the 27 bus line parallels Blue Line light rail via Blossom Hill Rd., Cottle, and Santa Teresa Blvd.
