San Francisco 49ers
From San Jose, Silicon Valley, and points elsewhere, there are several options to access San Francisco 49ers home games at the new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
Taking a bus or train to and from Levi’s Stadium from the Peninsula, San Francisco or the South Bay? Mountain View serves as the unofficial transit gateway to Levi’s Stadium. On any 49ers game day, take Caltrain from San Francisco or the Peninsula to Mountain View.

Before boarding Caltrain, purchase a joint Caltain/VTA day pass for an additional $6.00 at any ticket vending machine on all Caltrain station platforms.
In Mountain View, transfer to a VTA light rail train or direct express bus to Levi’s Stadium. Additional information on special VTA local and express buses, and light rail to and from Levi’s Stadium, follows.
VTA Buses and Light Rail
For 49ers games and other events at Levi’s Stadium, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will have additional light rail, express bus, and supplemental light rail shuttle bus service available. game-day direct express bus service from areas like from Eastridge Mall in San Jose, Vallco Mall in Cupertino, and Gilroy. Local bus, light rail, and express bus fares will still apply.
The map below from VTA shows all bus and rail pick-up and drop-off points for game-day and special event service at Levi’s Stadium.
TIP: Look for VTA personnel in yellow vests at key bus stops and rail stations. These personnel will help you use the system to get to and from Levi’s Stadium.
TIP: Look for direct express bus service from major VTA light rail stations like Mountain View, Tasman or Ohlone-Chynoweth stations. These express buses skip all light rail stops and go directly to and from Levi’s Stadium on 49ers game days.
Plan on arriving at Levi’s Stadium at least two (2) hours before football kickoff or the start of a special event at Levi’s Stadium. This lets you beat traffic gridlock and allows time for you to get concessions and then your stadium seat(s).
Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) and Capitol Corridor
For riders of ACE and Capitol Corridor, Levi’s Stadium is a 5-minute walk from the Great America rail station. The nearest stadium entrance for this rail station is Toyota Gate F.
ACE will have one (1) train between Stockton, Livermore and Fremont to and from Levi’s Stadium on 49ers game days. Be advised: this train will leave Great America at the printed time, regardless of 49er game delays or the game entering overtime. Read this document from ACE on additional game-day travel information and tips.
Capitol Corridor trains from Fremont, Oakland, Richmond, Davis, Sacramento and Auburn serve Levi’s Stadium at the Great America stop. Visit their web site to obtain a schedule and special code for 25% off travel to and from Levi’s Stadium on game day.
Another way you can attend football games and other events at Levi’s Stadium is by bicycle. FREE valet bicycle parking is available in Red Lot 1, where the San Tomas Aquino Creek trail intersects with Tasman Rd. near the stadium. This map details specific bicycle trails leading to and from Levi’s Stadium.

The current Stanford Cardinal football schedule can be viewed at their site.
Stanford Stadium is located on El Camino Real at Galvez Street in Palo Alto, California:
Stanford Cardinal home football game times are subject to change, to allow for regional or national television coverage. This will be particularly the case if Stanford is in contention to qualify for a BCS Bowl or the BCS National Championship Game.
Caltrain has service to Stanford Cardinal home games via its special Stanford Stadium stop – a 10-minute walk to Stanford Stadium. Also, the Palo Alto Caltrain Station is about a 15-minute walk south to Stanford Stadium, off El Camino Real & Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto.
VTA’s 22, 35, and 522 Rapid buses (in addition to SamTrans buses) end at the Palo Alto Caltrain Station – only a 15 minute walk south to Stanford Stadium off El Camino Real & Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto.
Two (2) hours before and after Stanford Cardinal football games, VTA will detour the 22 and 522 Rapid bus lines from El Camino Real via Alma Street between Page Mill Rd. and the Palo Alto Caltrain Station (NON-STOP) in both directions. This is to ensure these bus lines avoid traffic and delays from fans entering and leaving the football game. VTA will run separate local bus service between Page Mill Road and the Palo Alto Caltrain station both ways during the reroute, to ensure fans can access regular 22 & 522 Rapid bus service before and after the football game. This will be done for all Stanford Cardinal football home games.
